About Me

aboutme

Let’s start by revealing where I stand in the timeline of the twenty-somethings: I’m twenty-two, a fairly new member of this demographic.
I grew up in a very small town outside of Windsor, Ontario called Belle River. I am the youngest of four kids, which has greatly influenced who I am today. My oldest sister was very into school, and her keener attitude rubbed off on me. My other sister was the complete opposite and was more into socializing and looking good. In grade seven she took me under her wing and feminized me with tweezers and hair dye. And being the closest thing to a younger brother that my brother could have, he taught me how to play sports and how to put somebody in a sleeper hold.

Now, I am an aunt to three neices and three nephews, all of which are amazing. They have taught me many things, including how I am not ready to be a parent for at least five more years. And they have revealed to my parents and siblings many things about me, including that I was on birth control at 18 years old (by playing in my purse) and that I may have had a midnight snack with whipped cream in my room (by finding the cap by my bed)…

When I was eighteen, I moved to London, Ontario where I attended the University of Western Ontario and completed a double major degree in English Language and Literature, and MIT (Media, Information, and Technoculture). Upon graduating, I made the big move to Toronto to pursue my career in journalism or broadcasting. And I am happy to say that I finally got an internship at Flare Magazine.

As for a final note, some of my favourite things include: my boyfriend and friends, Ben and Jerrys, cheese, documentary films, and martinis. I know how to mix class with tastelessness and I think you will find that in my stories!
